This page will be extended in the near future to include all reports in a citable format and DOI compatible location.

The goal of this page is to share the heart of the OEduverse programme, which is the ideas and concepts and the methods to put them into practice for training future researchers for sustainable and humane researchers careers. With these reports, which are organised along the intellectual outputs (IOs) of the OEduverse project, you will be able to replicate the OEduverse Hackathon Summer Schools or to create a similar format, further tailored to the individual needs of specific domains, organisations or any group of individuals.

IO1 – OEduverse Training Framework

At the core of OEduverse is the summer school hackathon training programme, “Design your own research environment”. The programme is organised as a five days long training programme, where each day isfocused either on one of the three training modules, introduction and matchmaking, as well as creating and presenting personalised change plans for the individual research situation and environment. In that sense the summer schools are the core activities developed.

The OEduverse Training Framework captures the essence of the OEduverse training programme. It is exploring the background and traces the defining ideas and cites the initiatives, publications and programmes that are at the base of the OEduverse concept and showcases how they shaped the programme. Furthermore, the structure, modules and concepts of the programme are introduced for replicating the same or a comparable programme.

IO1 – The OEduverse Training Handbook

The OEduverse Training Handbook provides you with everything you need to recreate and Implement your personal OEduverse Hackathon Training Programme. It is intended for training managers and trainers and captures the main ideas, the narrative, the programme structure and the best practices in a compact and readable format. If you want to take away one single document about OEduverse then this is the one to go with.

IO2 – Mental Health and Wellbeing for PhD and Early Career Researchers Training Day

Mental health and wellbeing should be looked at in an overarching way for PhD and early career researchers, and not just specifically for their academic research. Mental health and wellbeing is part of the research piece but more importantly, it’s part of their lives as a whole.
The issue is that many PhD and early career researchers have such high demands of their time and resources, that mental health and wellbeing can often be one of the first things to
be neglected in favour of their work. This can result in significant negative impacts on the researchers themselves, which in turn can impact their work. By prioritising and incorporating mental health and wellbeing into their lives, PhD and early career researchers can prepare themselves for some of the challenges that might arise during their research period.

This mental health training day report, provides the ideas, means and composition of the training day as part of the OEduverse Training Framework.

IO3 – Open Science for Sustainable Research Careers Training Day

Open Science (OS) is a central concept to the advancement of science in Europe through the 21st century. The Open Science Training Day aims to provide the foundations of OS skills training to early stage and experienced researchers, which reflects labour market needs. But open science is not only becoming a vital skill for researchers on the global job market, it also supports an inherent understanding of best practices and structured approaches for research.

This open science training day report, provides the ideas, means and composition of the training day as part of the OEduverse Training Framework.

IO4 – Science Communication and Storytelling Training Day “OWN YOUR STORY”

Oeduverse’s science communication module addresses ownership of the academic narrative in a process-driven and experiential way. The title of the module block is: Own Your Story. It invites early career researchers to get in touch with their motivations and articulate their authentic ‘research story’. The module enables researchers to think like designers, engage in the process, identify and articulate their needs, imagine their optimal academic scenarios and learn to communicate their ideas to diverse audiences.

IO5 – OEduverse Evaluation Framework – Understanding the OEduverse Impact

The evaluation strategy includes an evaluation activity, which was designed to help understand the impact of the OEduverse training on the careers of researchers who attended the training sessions. The evaluation activity starts with pre-questionnaires and continues within the summer school as a separate activity of evaluation and goal setting. Within the activity, participants evaluate the summer school, followed by a goal setting intervention.
The goal setting intervention is completed by a designed and framed follow-up with the participants that is conducted three to six months later. The event is focussed on an extended, open evaluation discussion and catches up on the set goals to further stabilise the lessons learned.

The evaluation strategy and actions report, provides the ideas, means and composition of the evaluation strategy, as well as the evaluation session and actions, as an integral part of the OEduverse Training.

Within the training oriented IOs, OEduverse composed and developed high quality training material. All materials are available through the official and open Erasmus+ results portal, after the evaluation has been completed:
